Well, this is embarrassing.

The South Korean Air Force, in a joint exercise with the United States on Thursday, accidentally dropped eight bombs on their own citizens in the village of Dong-myeon in Gyeonggi Province.

The bombs were supposed to land several miles away.

Eight general-purpose MK-82 bombs were โ€˜abnormally released' and landed several miles outside their designated target range, striking a village within the city limits of Pocheon, about 25 miles north of Seoul, on Thursday morning, South Korea's military said. The aircraft were South Korean KF-16 jets, each carrying four bombs.

Based on initial findings, Seoul's military said at least one of the pilots appeared to have put in the wrong target coordinates. The military is still investigating potential errors by the pilot of the other jet.

The bombs injured at least 15 people - one of them having shrapnel lodged in their neck, another suffering a fractured shoulder.

As you can see in the video, several buildings were destroyed in the bombing. It "wrecked homes, smashed shop windows and blew the bricks off a church."

While American military personnel were present, no American aircraft participated in the drill.

Hopefully when the U.S. participates, we won't see any more mistakes like this one!
