The widow of Lance Cpl. Rylee McCollum has given birth to a beautiful baby girl, Levi Rylee Rose.
She is their first child.
Rylee McCollum, 20, from Jackson, Wyoming married Jiennah Crayton (who goes by Gigi) before he went on his first deployment to Jordan then to Afghanistan.
The Marine was killed by a suicide bomber in the Kabul airport attack which left 13 U.S. troops dead on Aug. 26.
On Sept. 13, Rylee would have become a father.
Gigi posted on Facebook, "Welcome to the world, my sweet baby. I love you with my whole heart."
13 U.S. soldiers, baby born on the 13th. No coincidence here.
Levi Rylee Rose was excited to meet her mom and came early! Her due date was Sep. 22 and Levi was born at the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton in California. She came in at eight pounds and 10 ounces at 2:18 a.m.
"Levi is the most loved baby in the country right now," said Cheyenne McCollum, Rylee's sister.
Both the mom and baby are healthy and doing well.
