Heartbroken father of murdered 3-year-old looks on as suspect smirks in court; bond set at $5 million

I know something that would wipe that smirk off her face.

This black woman, Bionca Ellis, reportedly stabbed a 3-year-old white boy, Julian Wood, who was in the parking lot with his mom. Julian's mother said Ellis stabbed her son multiple times while he was riding in the cart, completely unprovoked, before turning the knife on her.

Here is a picture of Julian, who had just finished preschool for the summer.

From Julian's father:

That day, one week ago, she took everything from us. There's nothing that could ever replace my son or anything that my wife and I, even our other kids, are going through. It's horrendous. I really wish no bail. Period. Or extend it to the maximum limit possible that you can, at the very least. Just do whatever you can to keep this monster behind bars.

I'll take a moment to remind all of you parents that you should be prepared every second of every day for an unhinged, demon-eyes woman to stab your babies in a grocery cart. This kind of evil wants to destroy everything you love in the blink of an eye.

I know every one of you would take the stab wounds yourself, but time is not usually on your side.

If you want to protect your loved ones, you have to have something faster than a knife.

More from WTOL 11:

Bond has been set at $5 million for 32-year-old Bionca Ellis, the Cleveland woman accused of killing 3-year-old Julian Wood in a double stabbing outside of a Giant Eagle in North Olmsted.

Ellis is due back in court for a pretrial hearing at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 17, with Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge John Russo assigned to the case.

A GoFundMe for the family is here.

As for the punishment for stabbing a 3-year-old in front of his mother, there's only one that's truly just.
