Remember the women at the L.A. spa who claimed a dude exposed himself and it was dismissed as a "transphobic hoax"? Yeah, charges have now been filed against the man, who is a registered sex offender

Earlier this year, a group of women at a California spa claimed that a man identifying as a woman exposed himself to them in the women's bathroom of the spa.

Among the alleged victims were reportedly several underage girls. The incident, which led to sometimes-violent protests outside the spa by Antifa and LGBT activists, was either ignored by the media or else dismissed as a "hoax."

Now, it turns out that charges have been filed in the case:

In June, a group of women complained that a person who identified as female exposed their penis at the Wi Spa in Los Angeles. The incident led to months of sometimes violent protests, with media outlets declaring it an example of bias against the transgendered, or even that it didn't happen. Slate said it was a "transphobic hoax."

But on Monday, charges of indecent exposure were discreetly filed against a serial sex offender for the Wi Spa incident, following an investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.

The man in question denies that he exposed himself, telling the New York Post that he has been the victim of a campaign of "garbage and lies."

His criminal record, meanwhile, indicates that he is "a tier-one registered sex offender with two prior convictions of indecent exposure stemming from incidents in 2002 and 2003 in California."
