It's not a dream (though it IS a nightmare): Taking the family out to Chick-fil-A on Saturday afternoon really is more expensive than it used to be:
Chick-fil-A has lifted its prices a staggering 21% over the past two years as Americans remain at mercy to stubbornly high inflation.
The chicken giant first hiked its prices by 15% in 2022, Newsweek reported, citing figures from Food Truck Empire, a blog about launching a food-focused business.
Then in January 2023, the chain โ which boasts over 3,000 locations across the US โ implemented another 6% menu-wide surge.
Frankly, I'm amazed: How is this possible after President Joe Biden ordered companies to bring their prices down??
Spoiler alert:
At Chick-fil-A, meanwhile, the price hikes mean "the average price of Chick-fil-A's signature chicken sandwich and eight-piece chicken nuggets will run hungry patrons $5.79 and $5.95, respectively."
Ready for a mindfreak?
For reference, both popular menu items averaged under $5 in 2021, per Food Truck Empire.
The New York Post demurely noted that it "wasn't immediately clear if inflation was the reason for Chick-fil-A's skyrocketing costs." Factors such as huge minimum wage hikes in many states could also play a role.
Pretty sure whatever the cause, it's not getting better anytime soon. Remember to vote in November!
