SunExpress is a Turkish-German airline that is a joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa. Meals for the flights are catered out of the capital city of Ankara, Turkey, by a company called Sancak Inflight Services, and there have been problems a plenty with surprises in the meals, including bugs and snails.
However, recently a crew member posted this video of the granddaddy of happy meal prizes in her meal:
Yes, that is a snake's head.
Excuses me while I get hiss-terical.
Sancak immediately disclaimed any association with the snake head, saying,
"We did not use any of the foreign objects that were supposedly in the food when cooking (due to the technical and thermal conditions used in the in-flight catering facilities)."
To prove that the snake's head was added after they prepared the meal, the company pointed out that dishes they make are cooked at 280 degrees Celsius (536 degrees fahrenheit).
The airline is investigating this event; mayhap they'll consider getting an investigator familiar with dealing with snakes on a plane?
