Zuck announces Facebook is firing jaw-dropping 11,000 employees in bid to become "leaner and more efficient"
· Nov 9, 2022 · NottheBee.com

Rough stuff here, at least if you're among that 11,000:

Today I'm sharing some of the most difficult changes we've made in Meta's history. I've decided to reduce the size of our team by about 13% and let more than 11,000 of our talented employees go. We are also taking a number of additional steps to become a leaner and more efficient company by cutting discretionary spending and extending our hiring freeze through Q1.

Regardless of what you think about Facebook, there's a lot of people waking up today to the rough news of having lost a job.

Of course, they can and likely will get a job somewhere better. Many of them will eventually savor the day they no longer worked for that company.

Still, it's a hard transition. Always is.
