SNUBBED! Caitlin Clark will not be selected for the US Olympic women's basketball team. Because of course.

Let's see, Caitlin Clark is a legit celebrity, a stud on the court, a phenom in the media, and the #1 reason ANYONE is watching women's basketball. So it just makes sense that she'd be snubbed from the US Olympic squad.

Multiple reports are out that Clark will not be included on the Olympic squad in 2024. And I think we can all guess why.

Caitlin Clark won't be headed to the Paris Olympics, a source told ESPN, confirming multiple reports ...

Clark, now a rookie with the Indiana Fever, has drawn millions of new fans to women's basketball in her college career and also in her young WNBA career.

While Clark won't be headed to Paris, the United States is expected to take five-time gold medalist Diana Taurasi for a sixth Olympics. Taurasi, who will turn 42 on Tuesday, will be joined by Phoenix Mercury teammate Brittney Griner.

Yeah, Brittney Griner is on the team, even though there's good reason to not let her travel abroad (I hope they don't play against Russia) but Ms. Basketball herself didn't get an invite.

According to ESPN, Clark was busy playing in the NCAA Final Four during the tryouts for the Olympic squad, although exceptions can be made.

Many sports personalities had their thoughts on the perceived snub.

This is a great point. If the WNBA and women's sports wanted to make money they'd bring their most popular player who has transformed the sport. NBC is losing it at all the potential ad revenue and eyeballs lost.

He ranted further here.

[Brief language]

El Presidente is referring to the fact that the WNBA had to fly commercial to and from games before Clark. Now they're flying private jets. But if they want to squander it, they can go ahead.

Now, the WNBA did not make this decision, BUT it is reflective of women's basketball in the US as the US Olympic team has to work with the pro league.

This is outrageous.

What in the world are they thinking? Women's basketball is in self-destruct mode.
