Did you see this photo finish in the men's 100m gold medal race?

This one was for gold in the men's 100-meter dash, and let me tell you, it was a doozy.

Let's take a look at the live shot from Sunday night before we slow it down.

NBC's Leigh Diffey got it wrong live, and can you blame him?

Look how close this race was:

Yup, it was the American, Noah Lyles, who came away with his first Olympic gold medal. A 0.005-second difference!

And what a way to do it!

Noah Lyles has been claiming to be β€˜the fastest man alive' since becoming the reigning world champion in the 100-meter race last year.

After Sunday night's race, the American can now claim that title without contest.

Lyles ran 9.79 seconds, a personal best, in the Sunday night competition at Stade de France, to claim his first Olympic gold …

Computers show Lyles leaned forward to cross the line five-thousandths of a second faster than [Jamaica's Kishane] Thompson.

Noah Lyles, ladies and gentlemen. He's now the "fastest man alive."

Another interesting note: This was the first time in history that all eight men finished the 100-meter in fewer than ten seconds in a wind-legal race.
