I know sane people everywhere are laughing at the brutal bias exposed in the Google Gemini feature recently.
In one sense, it is laughable that supposedly the smartest minds on the planet rolled this baby out there with such obvious, gaping holes in its formatting. In this hyper-politicized environment, it doesn't take a team of Rhodes scholars to figure out that the political bias of Gemini was going to be one of the first things tested by both sides.
It's certainly humorous to think about the conversations that were going on in the Google brain trust as more and more screenshots surfaced, showing how utterly constricted the AI project was by the woke politics and politically correct gobbledygook of its programmers. To call it an utter humiliation for the nerd class would be an understatement.
Google chief Sundar Pichai addressed his company's disgrace in a memo to employees where he acknowledged they "missed the mark." I'd say.
Social media users have posted numerous examples of Gemini's image generator depicting historical figures - including popes, the founding fathers of the US and Vikings - in a variety of ethnicities and genders.
That's a polite way of saying, "the image generator did this:"
Yes, that would be Google's AI attempting to make history a bit more inclusive by generating an image of a black Nazi soldier from World War II. If I need to explain why that's insane, how the Nazis weren't exactly a group known for their ethnic inclusiveness, I don't know what to tell you.
And that was only scratching the surface of Gemini's insane propagation of progressive politics.
Read this whole (incredible) thread:
Embarrassing.
And that's why Pichai has been falling all over himself to assure us that they've "been working around the clock to address these issues," and that there were "structural changes, updated product guidelines, [and] improved launch processes" all in store.
But for everyone laughing about this buffoonish black eye Google has brought upon itself, I'd like to offer up a word of caution. The left-wing tech giants may be embarrassed for the moment, but they will fix it. And by that I don't mean they will suddenly see the light and realize they are fringe lunatics peddling an agenda that is anti-civilization and flagrantly destructive to humanity.
No, I mean they will improve the way in which they conceal their bias, subdue their moralizing, and camouflage their agenda.
The corrupting bias of the progressive overlords at Google isn't going anywhere. They're just going to work overtime to make sure it isn't nearly so easy to expose.
And for the future of our way of life, that is no laughing matter.
