Much commotion was made throughout the Democrat/Media Complex when Governor Ron DeSantis signed the "Fairness in Women's Sports Act" on the first day of June, the LGBT movement's so-called "Pride Month." In fact, it was the timing of the act more than the legislation itself that seemed to draw the ire of the sexual revolutionaries that now make up the majority of both the Democratic Party and their propaganda wing, the "mainstream" press.
CBS News was quick to report on the outrage, highlighting how Florida State Senator Shevrin Jones called it a "hate-driven attack from the governor and Republican legislators." Though Jones was not pressed to explain how upholding the entire premise behind the existence of separate women's and men's athletic events was "hate-driven," he was provided the platform to decry how "insulting" it was "that they've staged this morning's photo-op on the first day of Pride Month."
"Most people don't know what it's like to be transgender or to be the parent of a transgender child, but we should all be able to agree that every Florida child deserves needs love and support, not aimless attacks from the legislature," Jones said.
Besides Jones, CBS also sought out Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried, the woman who has declared her intent to run against DeSantis in 2022, to offer her thoughts. She smacked the governor for being "heartless," and "marginalizing an entire community" on the first day of pride month.
I have to admit to being amused at the logical contortions progressives willfully perform in order to object to something, anything, a Republican lawmaker does. The supposed party of women could have been celebrating the fact a conservative governor just took action to respect the distinction and character of femininity. But an "R" beside the name means mandatory rage, no matter the issue.
Moreover, beyond the new law's moral defense of the integrity of women's sports, observers in a sane world would recognize there is no more appropriate time to sign such a bill than the first day of a month culturally designated to respect the identity of gays and lesbians. To anyone even remotely capable of critical thinking, transgender ideology and its requisite policy demands are the antithesis of showing "pride" in homosexual identity.
Though it is ultimately impossible to put definitive boundaries around what constitutes a homosexual since mankind was never intended to find his or her identity in sexuality – attraction or conduct – for the purposes of understanding the point, we can adopt pop culture's generic understanding of terms:
- A lesbian is a woman who is sexually or romantically attracted to and/or involved with another woman.
- A gay man is a man who is sexually or romantically attracted to and/or involved with another man.
- A bisexual is a man or woman who is sexually or romantically attracted to both men and women.
Now consider that the entire premise of transgender ideology is that there is no such thing as a "man" or "woman." Transgenderism logically demands that human sexuality be understood as a non-distinct sliding scale where gender is a social construct completely absolved of any correlation to biology. A person with male reproductive organs and chromosomes may self-determine their gender identity to be female, with the understanding that could change in time.
With such intellectual elasticity required, anyone who embraces transgender dogma must necessarily erase the definitive boundaries of man and woman. But if there is no man, there is no gay man. If there is no woman, there is no lesbian. And if there is no man or woman, there is no bisexual. The "T" in LGBT has always been a trojan horse, poised to unravel the movement's efficacy from within.
To sign a law that essentially declares, "There is such a thing as female, and only women and girls can be included within that distinct group," is to reinforce the central assumptions of gay women. To sign a law that essentially declares, "There is such a thing as male, and men and boys cannot be physically, emotionally, or morally identified as female," is to reinforce the central assumptions of gay men.
That's what Gov. DeSantis just did – an action that would, to any movement grounded in logic, be something to celebrate during a gay pride month.
But instead, offering the latest evidence that this is a purely political movement focused exclusively on power rather than the ultimate good of its participants, LGBT activists and their political allies are beclowning themselves in a pearl-clutching routine that is as sanctimonious as it is silly.
