The ugly racism of privileged progressives

Six justices of the United States Supreme Court voted to overturn Roe v. Wade. Pay attention to the fact that supposedly sophisticated white liberal elites are going after one – the black man.

I don't need to recount the remarkable personal story of Associate Justice Clarence Thomas – about how he is a descendant of African slaves, about how he shared shoes with his brother growing up due to his family's poverty, about how he survived disgusting attempts to besmirch his character all perpetrated by white liberal Senators who all sneered their disapproval towards a black man who disagreed with them.

I don't need to mention how he rose above all that and became not only a tenured member of the United States Supreme Court, but one of the happiest, most joyful, and kindest individuals in the cesspool that is Washington, D.C. Don't take my word for it. Take the word of his liberal colleague Sonia Sotomayor:

Now recognize that this man has, once again, been on the receiving end of some of the most vile and despicable racist attacks we have seen in decades. While leftist Twitter hordes will destroy a person's career and livelihood if they are able to uncover a person who has ever quoted the "n-word" publicly, even if merely in the recitation of song or rap lyrics, they will fire it off with impunity when it is a black man who has his own mind.

I referenced far too many examples in a recent column, but the racism isn't confined to just one word. Here's Star Trek alum and LGBT champion George Takei:

Meanwhile, revealing once again the caliber of character they require for employment, media giant CNN watched passively as their ex-con contributor Rex Chapman went on a bizarre, racist Twitter thread that left everyone, left or right, slack jawed.

What does this trash even mean? Because Clarence Thomas doesn't enjoy basketball games (he actually does), he isn't authentically black…like Bill Clinton?

What is this? I don't know if Chapman had been drinking or was merely drunk on his own privilege as a white liberal, but at some point there needs to be accountability for this kind of despicable conduct, right?

And no, I don't mean firing. I mean accountability from the employer to set a standard of consistency for their employees. If you are going to condemn racism, try not to get caught being exceptionally racist on your open Twitter feed – that kind of thing.

Once again, all this proves what I – and countless others – have said time and again. That the most discriminated against, most mistreated, most insulted people in our culture are black conservatives. The Democrat Party's previous despicable claim to hold ownership over black bodies has given way to their current despicable claim to hold ownership over black minds. Think like us, believe like us, opine like us, or "you ain't black."

Is there anything more racist than a belief that a person's skin pigmentation dictates how and what they can think?

  • Where's Ibram X. Kendi?
  • Where's Black Lives Matter?
  • Where's Joy Reid?
  • Where's Shaun King?
  • Where's Al Sharpton?

Where are all those activists who claim to be defending the honor of black minds, hearts, and bodies?

At some point, we simply have to start expecting better of one another, regardless of their ideological preferences.
