How impressive is that! That kid is an American hero.
No hesitation, all action from the jump. Didn't wait for anyone else to do anything. Natural born leader. Pulled the bus to the side, ducked down and hit the brakes, and saved his fellow kids. Then tried to wake the guy up, and when it was apparent something was really wrong, told another kid to hold the brake down, and bolted for a phone to call 911.
Led the whole scene all by himself. All the other kids just sat there paralyzed. They're very lucky he was there.
This video is going viral again (23M views on this one tweet alone (which I didn't use for this article because of the stupid music in the background)) but I was able to find the original story and it looks like it's from 11 years ago. I was also able to find the kid (now dude), Jeremy Wuitschick, on IG and Facebook.
Def him:
I had to dm him on Facebook to let him know he's a G.
Will keep you updated if he replies. 😊
Update: Unfortunately it looks like the bus driver died two days later. Very sad.
On the bright side, at least none of the kids died when he passed out behind the wheel.
