It all started when 20-year old Tanner Watkins changed his profile picture on Facebook to include his girlfriend.

The caption reads "It's war behind this one," which Urban Dictionary tells me means "I'll do anything for her."

That's when 18-year old Isaiah Fitzgerald reacted with a laughing emoji and got himself killed.

After a profanity-filled exchange, most of which I'm too old to understand but sounded like there‘s a history between the two men regarding the girl in the photo, Watkins and Fitzgerald agreed to meet up and fight at a golf course.

Except both men brought a bunch of friends, a bunch of guns, and started shooting at each other from their cars.

Isaiah and an unidentified woman were shot in the exchange of gunfire. Isaiah was killed, and the woman is in critical condition.

Watkins and 18-year old Kaleb Ramsey were arrested on charges of first-degree murder, three counts of first-degree assault, four counts of unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

The two men are being held without bond.

I guess the lesson here is that emojis can be dangerous; be sure to react responsibly.
