David Miguel took a break at his school soccer game and headed to the restroom, where he found a puma waiting for him in one of the stalls.

I know what you're thinking; this is another false alarm like the shopping bag incident that happened a short time ago.

And when David ran out to grab his father, Rodrigo Almeida, he was thinking along the same lines:

I thought it was going to be an ocelot, a wild dog or something else. The moment I saw the animal was that size, I ran back.

Local authorities were called in and they shot the puma with a tranquilizer to safely remove it and return it to the wild.

According to the Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA), the animal was a young female and was unharmed in the incident.

Veterinarian Marcos Mourao who was part of the team that released the animal said that the issue was related to deforestation.

We know this has been happening due to increased deforestation, large wildfires, and the destruction of the natural habitat of these animals.

I don't know though. Personally, I'm not at all surprised by the animal's reaction. I mean if some kid came around the corner with a camera while I was using the restroom, I might hiss and growl too.
