This Christian mom is suing Oregon after it determined she was unfit to foster because she won't "use a child’s preferred pronouns" or "take a child to affirming events like Pride parades"

Don't ever let anyone tell you that Christians are not regularly discriminated against in modern American public life:

An Oregon mother has moved to sue the state of Oregon for religious discrimination after she found that her Christian beliefs are now legally preventing her from being a foster parent.

Christian mother Jessica Bates is being barred by the state of Oregon from adopting foster siblings due to her Christian beliefs about human sexuality... Bates happens to believe that boys and girls are distinctly different; this is apparently a huge problem for the state of Oregon.

Bates sued the state earlier this year when she learned that she would be barred from adopting a child from the state foster care system unless she was prepared to support the LGBTQ "identities" of any children she may have adopted.

A lower court ruled against her, finding that state officials have a vested interest in affirming and promoting the "gender identities" and "sexualities" of children or something.

Heck of a job, Oregon.

Bates, a widow and mother of five, filed an appeal against that ruling this month. The Alliance Defending Freedom, which is representing the mom in her fight, said in a press release that "no state should abandon children in favor of a dangerous ideological agenda:"

"Jessica is a loving mother who feels called to adopt siblings under the age of 10 from foster care. But the state of Oregon is categorically excluding her from adopting any child because Jessica shares a view held by millions of Americans: that boys and girls are biologically different and should cherish that difference, not reject it."

That kind of common, completely reasonable belief is just apparently too much for Oregon. They'd rather enforce LGBT ideology than see foster kids into loving homes.

Bates "lost her husband in a car collision six years ago" and is "a mother of five children, ages 10 to 18."

We're praying for you, Mrs. Bates!
