An internal FBI memo targeting ‘radicalized' Catholics in the U.S. leaked to the public last week.

What characterizes a "radicalized" Catholic, according the FBI?

Some traits include preferring listening to the Mass in Latin, the view that there's only one road to heaven, abortion is sinful, and LGBTQ lifestyles are sinful.

According to the memo, radical beliefs like these lead to racism, white supremacy, and violent extremists, so the memo directed federal surveillance of these sorts of Catholics.

Needless to say, when the news broke it raised some eyebrows in the new Republican-led House of Representatives.

U.S. House Judiciary Committee chairman Jim Jordan is calling for answers.

The U.S. Judiciary Committee has sent FBI director Christopher Wray the following letter demanding information, and that the FBI come clean about

"the genesis, review, and approval of this document," and reaffirm its "commitment to upholding First Amendment protected activity"

The judiciary letter points out that most of the memo was taken from liberal media articles like Salon magazine and The Atlantic, as well lots of evidence from the Southern Poverty Law Center, all known for their far-left ideology.

The letter also points out that the memo is highly political saying the alleged threat could grow "in the run-up to the next general election cycle."

When the memo was revealed to the public, the FBI blamed the local-level field office for its "creation and dissemination," and publicly retracted it saying the document had failed to meet its "exacting standards."

Exacting standards like not getting leaked to the public.
