If there ever was a sign that the Covid-19 panic was over, the return of the flash mob is it.
Mourners at Sandie Wood's funeral in the UK were shocked when four dancers jumped up and performed a routine set to Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust."
The 65-year old former bar maid requested a spectacle and a stunt at her funeral, so her friends and family wouldn't be somber as they remembered her life.
In addition to the dancers, she requested a horse-drawn hearse for her pink coffin lined with her most sparkly shoes and handbags.
Sam Ryalls who organized the flash mob said,
"She was one of a kind, so she left the world how she lived it, being herself.
"She wanted everyone to remember her funeral but not for a sad reason.
"Everyone is sad and grieving because she is not here anymore but that doesn't mean her final day had to be that way."
He also said it was hard to find a dance troupe willing to flash mob a funeral; most were uncomfortable with the idea.
But dance group Flaming Feathers was intrigued.
Flaming Feathers owner Claire Phipps said,
"Flashmobbing a funeral was a bit daunting. It was also really exciting because it was different to what we normally do. We had to sit through half the service along with everyone else with our coats on – so that was quite nerve-racking.
"And then when the music came on, nobody had a clue what's going to happen and then obviously we had to jump up and do our routine. So it was scary, but a memory that we'll never forget. And it was a lot of fun."
With that I'll leave you with one of my favorite commercials ever:
