Well, this is very unfortunate. Out of Brazil:

A weekend fishing trip took a tragic turn when a man drowned in Brazil after jumping in a lake to escape a swarm of bees - only to be attacked by piranhas.

The incident unfolded on Sunday at a lake on a farm in a rural area of Brasilândia de Minas, local media reported.

According to the local fire department, the 30-year-old man and his two friends were fishing at the lake when they were attacked by a huge swarm of bees.

In an attempt to escape the bees, the three fishermen jumped into the lake. Two of the men managed to swim to safety, but their friend was nowhere to be found.

The fire department was called and an officer was about to dive into the lake when he was informed it was filled with piranhas.

No good at all. For reference, here's a photo of an actual piranha:

The divers ended up finding the deceased man but hey, we'll spare you those details.

Pretty brutal way to go. We live in a crazy world, folks.
