Oregon middle school temporarily shuts down because students were struggling with "socialization skills" after prolonged Covid isolation
· Nov 18, 2021 · NottheBee.com

Remember when the powers that be decided the best thing we could possibly do last year was shut down schools indefinitely and confine kids to an untested isolation/internet learning regime?

Remember when they told us over and over that it would all be fine because "kids are resilient"?

Yeah about that:

Reynolds Middle School in Fairview, Oregon, about 14 miles east of Portland, cancelled in-person classes for the next three weeks to ensure the "necessary social-emotional supports" and "safety protocols" are in place "to provide a safe learning environment for all students," according to superintendent Dr. Danna Diaz. She said the time will allow administrators, teachers, and support staff to work together to implement "operational safety procedures" before in-person instruction resumes on Dec. 7.

...

"The shifts in learning methods and isolation caused by COVID-19 closures and quarantines have taken a toll on the well-being of our students and staff," Diaz wrote in a letter to families and staff Tuesday justifying the sudden decision. "We are finding that some students are struggling with the socialization skills necessary for in-person learning, which is causing disruption in school for other students."

Waaait wait wait wait...

You're telling me that stuffing kids into their bedrooms for like 18 months, glueing them to computer screens, refusing to allow them to see all their friends, and teaching them to fear basic contact with other human beings was bad?

...That this somehow led to maladjustment and behavioral issues???

Maybe they'll figure out how to reverse over a year of damage in the span of a few weeks!
