Hard to imagine a more fitting and noble tribute to the Sage of Margaritaville:

One Florida legislator is seeking to honor the late Jimmy Buffett by naming one of the state's iconic roadways after him.

Rep. Chuck Clemons filed a proposal for a bill (properly known as HB 91) that would allow the Department of Transportation to erect signs calling S-A1A the "Jimmy Buffett Memorial Highway," in honor of the beloved singer-songwriter and famed Florida man.

As you can see, S-A1A runs through some of Florida's most iconic, sunscreen-y, rum-soaked localities:

Just imagine riding an Uber back from Captain Kooby's Skipper-Jack Tequila Bar, pleasantly squiffed on El Dorado and seeing big brightly lit signs saying "Jimmy Buffett Memorial Highway."

It'd probably be pretty surreal at first, but you'd get used to it, and eventually you'd love it. Might even lean out that Uber window to feel the breeze of the JBMH in your hair.

The man himself once sang about "strollin' down the avenue that's known as A1A," so he knew the area well.
