A new taxpayer-funded "Queer" middle school is opening in Arizona next month

Phoenix, Arizona is the latest city in the U.S. to announce the opening of a "Queer microschool" for middle school students. The school costs will be covered fully by Arizona's school voucher program.

While I'm sure there are a few weirdos in Phoenix who will happily enroll their 12-year-olds in "queer school," I don't think this is exactly the school choice people are clamoring for.

The school, known as the Queer Blended Learning Center, is a pet project of the LGBTQetc. youth nonprofit One•n•ten.

One•n•ten's director of development and marketing, Clayton Davenport, told the Arizona Republic,

We just had this population of sixth, seventh and eighth graders that could really benefit from a safe space to be able to really have exceptional education while also having education that pertains to their own identity.

Oh you mean there are a bunch of adolescents that are confused about their bodies during puberty? What a crazy epidemic! The only solution to this conundrum must be to put them in a school full of other hormonal pre-teens and a handful of sexually deviant teachers who can teach them about all their weird fetishes. I'm sure that will really help them through their identity crisis.

Students will start classes on August 1st, but according to USA Today the school's enrollment stands at "about half a dozen students." I've seen many homeschools bigger than that. IYKYK. They really mean what they say when they call it a "microschool."

In fact, the students will be using an online homeschool curriculum to learn the three R's, while an actual teacher, will be teaching them things like "LGBTQ History" and Social Studies.

I'm honestly shocked they won't be teaching LGBTQ math, but that's probably just not in the budget for their inaugural school year.
