Colorado bill would fully strip unborn humans of their right to life and legalize abortion all the way up through labor

Pro-abortion advocates always like to loudly proclaim that "nobody is pro-abortion" which is hard to square with the fact that pro-abortion advocates really, really seem to be pro-abortion:

A bill that would ensure the right to abortion under Colorado law cleared the state House Monday and is on its way to the Senate.

With the Senate controlled by Democrats, the bill is widely expected to pass and make it to Gov. Jared Polis' desk. The governor has indicated he will sign it.

When the news reports claim that the law would "ensure the right to abortion," what exactly do they mean? Well, let's check the bill itself:

(1) EVERY [WOMAN] HAS A FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT TO MAKE DECISIONS ABOUT [HER] REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CARE, INCLUDING THE FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT TO USE OR REFUSE CONTRACEPTION.

(2) A PREGNANT [WOMAN] HAS A FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT TO CONTINUE A PREGNANCY AND GIVE BIRTH OR TO HAVE AN ABORTION AND TO MAKE DECISIONS ABOUT HOW TO EXERCISE THAT RIGHT.

(3) A FERTILIZED EGG, EMBRYO, OR FETUS DOES NOT HAVE INDEPENDENT OR DERIVATIVE RIGHTS UNDER THE LAWS OF THIS STATE.

Let me just...

Just in case it's unclear, yes, this law does indeed guarantee that abortions in Colorado will be permitted all the way up through labor pains. There's no real getting around that. Pregnant women under this law will have the "right to continue a pregnancy... or to have an abortion," at any time, no qualifiers, full stop.

And just in case it were still not clear, the law codifies that unborn human beings will have "no independent or derivative rights" within the borders of Colorado, which is to say they can be killed for any reason whatsoever, at any time prior to their birth.

If this law passes, you'd be forgiven for leaving Colorado as soon as is humanly possible.
