After turning Luke Skywalker into a sad old man, Disney announces new film where Rey rebuilds the Jedi Order

I honestly don't care about this damaged franchise anymore, but it is my duty to report what new stupid things Disney is doing with its intellectual property.

There haven't been any Star Wars movies since 2019's "Rise of Skywalker," the conclusion to Disney's horrible sequel trilogy that had no coordinated planning and trashed everyone's favorite characters to boot.

Disney explained the break was due to fan "fatigue" from so much content, whereas any sane person would tell you that the fans were just sick to their stomachs.

Disney managed to pivot into TV with "The Mandalorian," a show they've now ruined with Jack Black and Lizzo, and that's kept the galaxy far, far away alive for a short time.

But now they're back to doubling down on their stupidity by bringing back Mary Sue Rey, the unliked main character from the sequel trilogy who didn't inspire audiences and had no relatability.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy announced at Star Wars Celebration in London on Friday. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy ("Ms. Marvel") will direct from a script by Steven Knight ("Peaky Blinders"). The film follows the events of "Rise of Skywalker," and will focus on Rey as she builds a new Jedi Order.

The project marks several major milestones for the franchise: Obaid-Chinoy is the first woman and the first person of color to direct a "Star Wars" movie.

Translation: This will be super woke and also suck.

If you'll recall, Luke Skywalker was the one who would help his father Anakin (Darth Vader) fulfill his role as the chosen one and restore balance to the Force. As Anakin destroyed the Light Side by killing the Jedi, so too would he destroy the Dark Side by destroying the Emperor.

Before confronting his father, Luke was told by the Jedi Master Yoda to rebuild the Jedi Order and oversee a new generation of students that would restore spiritual direction and physical protection to the galaxy.

Luke, when gone am I, the last of the Jedi will you be. Luke, the Force is strong in your family. Pass on what you have learned.

Instead of letting Luke do this, as he did in all the books written after the original films, Disney decided to kill off Luke's students and send him into exile as a bitter old man who utterly failed at achieving anything that Yoda had instructed him.

Now, where the old white dude didn't succeed, girl boss Rey will do it better!

Even worse, Rey has adopted the name "Skywalker," but is actually the granddaughter of the evil Emperor, meaning that it is the Palpatines who will train the next generation of Jedi, not the Skywalkers, who were quite literally immaculately conceived by the Force. In theological terms, it would be somewhat like the granddaughter of the Roman Emperor taking the spot of Jesus Christ as savior of the world.

But perhaps that is the point. Whether they know it or not, the woke neo-commies are always "deconstructing" great stories of heroes, saviors, and chosen ones, because there is indeed an enemy in our world who wants us to lose hope by hijacking the idea of messiah.

I'll leave you to think on that.
