Aggressive squirrels are terrorizing this NYC neighborhood and the footage is quite alarming

You can go ahead and check "attack of the squirrels" off your "Things that will go wrong in 2020" list. People living in one Queens neighborhood are afraid to leave their homes after several squirrel attacks over the last few weeks.

Micheline Frederick, a resident in the neighborhood was one of those people attacked and still bruised. She told WCBS-TV:

"You hear someone has been bitten by a squirrel, you're like ‘Okay, you got a little nib, what's the deal?' But this was … this was an MMA cage match! And I lost! We're wrestling in the snow and there's blood everywhere and my fingers getting chewed and it won't let go. Eventually, it just stopped and there I was a big bloody mess."

She said the squirrel, totally unprovoked, went after her when she stood on her front stoop. She shared the photos of the bloody aftermath:

This squirrel attack scene is actually pretty terrifying. Though squirrels frequently pop up on the "animals being jerks" subreddit, this might be the worst squirrel attack footage I've seen.

It's not just a vendetta against Frederick, several of her neighbors have been terrorized and harassed by the squirrel as well. The Singh family was recording the squirrel on their mailbox when it POUNCED. This is truly incredible footage which includes a slo-mo version of the pounce:

Last week, Licia Wang was walking up to her home when a squirrel jumped on her back and bit her arm. She had to wrestle the animal off.

According to the article, The Centers for Disease Control says small rodents like squirrels are almost never found to have rabies. The victims of the attacks have called the city for help and hired a DOH recommended trapper, but so far the trap remains empty.

STAY SAFE QUEENS.
