Until very recently, it was nonpartisan to say that gender dysphoria is a medically recognized as a mental illness are requires appropriate counseling and care.
NOW if you espouse such a cancerous opinion, Amazon will memory-hole you:
Ironically, Amazon still sells the American Psychiatric Association's official "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders," which lists gender dysphoria:
"Well, Amazon is just fighting BIGOTRY," one of you might say.
Okay, so you're saying that Amazon gets to be the final arbiter of what's true? You might want to reevaluate that opinion, bucko, because if unelected corporate elitists get to decide what's wrong and what's worthy to be learned, your head will end up on the chopping block sooner or later.
Note that this isn't just applying to religious authors who are arguing that homosexuality or transgenderism are sinful. It's applying to books that are about as objective on the matter as you can find – books from authors who genuinely want to investigate the transgender craze among young people and the effects of irreversible hormone treatment and body-altering surgeries.
One of the authors whose book was removed was Ryan T. Anderson, who wrote the critically acclaimed "When Harry Became Sally: Responding to the Transgender Moment."
Anderson has been praised on both sides of the political aisle – even from transgender individuals themselves – for his examination of the issue. Nowhere in the book does Anderson even say that transgender individuals are mentally ill.
You see, Anderson's research implies that cutting off children's genitals and pumping them full of hormones is bad, and since that goes against the narrative of Wokism, it must be stopped.
The same is true of other non-partisan research into LGBT culture and the transgender movement – such as Abigail Shrier's "Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters," which was barred from advertising on Amazon and banned outright from Target.
Here's why this clown move is a dangerous first step down the path to the dark side: Book burning begets book burning.
This starts with a book here and a book there, and then it picks up steam. Pretty soon, large numbers of books will be removed from retailers, libraries, and schools – on the basis of subjective worldview alone – and largely with just the click of a button.
Inevitably, anything considered wrongthink will be removed from Amazon, and that's no joke when they have a practical monopoly on the market. If you're not featured on Amazon, you don't get read.
As the market becomes ideologically skewed, it will become an echo chamber that invites no discussion and punishes dissent. Sure, it will come for the conservative Christians first, but the Woke Monster won't stop once it's had its fill of the saints.
If you need me, I'll be over here reading another title on the wrongthink list that is likely to find its way to the chopping block soon!
