American Idol is back for its 22nd season and DANG did this girl just bring the fire.

Seventeen-year-old Jennifer Jeffries of Starkville, Mississippi, came to audition in judge Lionel Richie's hometown of Tuskegee, Alabama, and she sang an original song called "Change My Ways."

THE BEST.

What a beautiful, raw, worship song with an explicitly Christian message. And it was heard by a national audience!

The judges all raved about her unique, folksy voice, but what is more impressive to me is her songwriting and message.

Jennifer, who is the youngest of nine kids, won a golden ticket after all three judges voted to send her to the next round of the competition in Hollywood.

I'm looking forward to seeing how she does!
