This may have been the most Fredoesque thing that Gov. Andrew Cuomo could have done after droves of Democratic leaders called for his resignation:
I mean, can you blame the guy? Just a few months ago, he was the hero of the Republic, at least according to the Left. He was the model governor for handling the pandemic. Ellen and Stephen Colbert called themselves "Cuomosexuals." He sold a bunch of copies of his self-aggrandizing leadership book, and he even won an Emmy!
But life comes at you fast, and once Trump was gone, the Democratic Party cut Cuomo loose, pausing only to thank their lucky stars that there are sexual assault allegations to distract the public from all the grandparents killed by Cuomo and other Dems' poor pandemic policy.
And so it was that Andrew Cuomo found himself stabbed in the back by his own "friends," then run over with extreme prejudice (before they backed up over him once more for good measure).
As everyone from Sen. Chuck Schumer to AOC called for him to end his career in disgrace, Cuomo walked around the governor's mansion in a daze, cradling a beer in one hand and a phone in the other as he drew a blanket around his shoulders for some emotional support.
Of course, the internet is a cruel mistress, and the Twitter sharks smelled blood in the water and moved in for the kill:
