Well, this is interesting:
Time for some diversity training over there at Apple, ey?
It seems anti-semitism has overtaken their Muslim Slack channel.
"We have a very important update to share with you today. We saw and heard your feedback," a person identified by Insider as a "leader of Apple's Muslim employee resource group" wrote in a message to users of the Muslim Slack channel.
"We've collectively decided that the only sustainable path forward is to briefly pause the Apple Muslim Slack channel," the Muslim Slack channel users were told.
"The Apple Jewish Slack channel will do the same."
The Insider report claimed that Apple's management removed posts that included verses from the Islamic holy book as well as "certain words that are said by international organizations."
I wonder what verses they might have posted.
Let's look at a few verses straight out of the Islamic holy scriptures that might have been contenders for this shutdown among the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion crowd over at Apple.
O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you - then indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people. (5:51)
Oof.
Say, "Shall I inform you of [what is] worse than that as penalty from Allah ? [It is that of] those whom Allah has cursed and with whom He became angry and made of them apes and pigs and slaves of Taghut. Those are worse in position and further astray from the sound way." (5:60)
Yeah, so Muslim believe a group of Jews were tempted by Allah to break the Sabbath by only making fish appear for fisherman on the Sabbath, and when they did break the Sabbath, he turned them into literal monkeys and pigs.
I wonder if Allah took Professor McGonagall's transfiguration class (that's a Harry Potter reference for the homeschoolers).
People have tried to argue in the last 5 minutes of world history that it's just metaphorical, like Jesus calling the Pharisees a "brood of vipers," but no, Muhammad's cousin Ibn Abbas believed it was a literal transformation, as recorded by the 12th century historian Ibn Kathir.
Or maybe these verses were included?
Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah [yearly tax to Muslim overlords] willingly while they are humbled.
The Jews say, "Ezra is the son of Allah "; and the Christians say, "The Messiah is the son of Allah ." That is their statement from their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved [before them]. May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded?
(9:29-30)
Lots of other verses in the Quran to choose from if you want some light reading about bloody warfare carried out against Christians, Jews, and pagans!
Anyway, along those lines of holy struggle (jihad), back to the report:
Employees who posted on the Muslim Slack channel also reportedly attempted to organize protests.
Notice how they shut down the Jewish channel as well. I looked, and I can't find any legit reason for the Jewish channel to get shut down. Possibly, that's because they were not calling for the annihilation of Muslims. Apple probably just took down the Jewish chat for "fairness."
They probably wrote to the Jewish employees, and I fake-quote, "Hey, the Muslims are getting all sorts of anti-Semitic in the Muslim channel, so we're going to go ahead and shut down both their and your Slack channels so they don't kill us. Okay, thanks."
Terrible that Apple had to do this, but it just goes to show you what happens when you run a company involving the "religion of peace."
