As Russia wages war on Ukraine, come see how the US Army is training its personnel on gender and pronouns

Here's a Babylon Bee headline from last week:

And here's a real news story from this week:

The Babylon Bee is supposed to write jokes, not plagiarize reality. Or would this be reality plagiarizing The Bee?

I don't know.

Either way, it's really frustrating.

The idea of our military training officers on gender identity during the largest European military operation since World War II should only exist in the form of a joke.

Unfortunately, this is not a joke.

Here are some of the slides from the gender training presentation which "All Army personnel, from soldiers to commanders and supervisors, are required to participate in" by September 30.

I can't believe I just wrote that. I can't believe this is real.

Okay, cool. Glad we know all that. Now can we get back to work? Russia is, like, invading the Ukraine!

Not so fast, Bucko. As a member of the military, you'll have to know what to do in these two, very serious, situations.

Yes, you read all of that right. And yes, the military does provide "gender transition care," including surgeries.

More from the article:

Dakota Wood, a Marine Corps veteran who specializes in defense issues at the Heritage Foundation think tank, said the Army presentation employs language primarily used by those on the progressive left.

"A telling phrase in the presentation—'assigned (male or female) at birth'—reveals that whoever developed the presentation material, and the policy being implemented, accepts the argument that gender is an artificial construct rather than a biological reality," Wood said. "This is a highly controversial argument promoted by the progressive left and rejected by the conservative right."

These policies threaten to erode cohesion among soldiers, Wood added.

"Using such examples to illustrate instances where Army leaders need to treat a soldier in one way or another highlights the types of social policies being imposed on the military services. There are a great many people in the military, arguably the vast majority, who do not agree with this manufactured construct," Wood said.

Forcing soldiers "to accept the premise—that one can choose their gender and therefore change how they are to be treated—creates frictions within organizations that are dependent on unity and cohesion to be successful in combat."

So while the Russians advance on Ukraine, our military is learning how to properly accommodate transgendered soldiers.

I guess at least we're still the greatest military power on the planet.

Though, with backwards training such as this, I'm sure someone will soon take our place.

Ukraine, if you need us, we'll be at the library brushing up on modern gender identities. If you do reach out though, don't forget to use gender-neutral pronouns just in case the military member you speak to is transgendered.
