If you told me this was a comedy skit, I'd believe you, but it's real life in Australia.
HIS FACE AT THE END!!!
This week, Australia became the first country in the world to impose an under-16 ban on social media.
While parents worldwide are eager to protect their kids from the brain rot and grooming that happens online, many people have pushed back against the actual effectiveness of a government ban, noting that kids are far more tech savvy than aging politicians and their bloated public agencies.
Part of the pushback is the criticism that a government ban cuts out the role and responsibility of parents. Other strategies, such as taking kids' phones away at school, have been shown to be effective in increasing test scores, sociability, and focus.
Many parents want the right to be able to regulate the access their children have, as opposed to bureaucratic censorship.
However, one does have to wonder why Reddit, the platform infamous for grooming kids into sexual depravity and body dysmorphia, is so eager to reverse the ban.
Others have warned that Australia, which has severely cracked down on free speech in recent years, is using children's safety as the first step of further government oppression against wrongthink.
As an example, a woman was slapped with an absurd fine earlier this year for objecting to two men who are playing in women's soccer leagues.
Anyone want to take bets on how many teens have already gotten around the ban?
