Aussie health official says DON'T TALK TO ANYONE, EVER, EVEN WITH A MASK ON ... because Covid

When will this madness end?

Dr. Kerry Chant, chief health officer of New South Wales, Australia, beclowned herself on Tuesday when she seriously told citizens to avoid even TALKING with each other. And it's all for the cause of stopping the spread of COVID-19.

"Whilst it's human nature to engage in conversation with others — to be friendly — unfortunately this is not the time to do that," Chant said.

"So even if you run into your next-door neighbor in the shopping center … don't start up a conversation. Now is the time for minimizing your interactions with others. Even if you've got a mask, do not think that affords total protection. We want to be absolutely sure that as we go about our daily lives we do not come into contact with anyone else that would pose a risk."

You know, Chant is actually right when she says, "do not think [a mask] affords total protection [from the virus]." I agree 100 percent, but not for the same reasons.

"I can't remember a time when our state has been challenged to such an extent," said Gladys Berejiklian, Premier of New South Wales. "I can't remember a time when government had to make these difficult decisions."

In what reality are these government officials like Chant and Berejiklian living? It shouldn't be too much to ask government officials to live in THIS reality.

The Euro soccer tournament saw stadiums throughout Europe PACKED with hundreds of thousands of fans in Copenhagen, London, Budapest, and more.

A capacity crowd of about 140,000 fans were in attendance for Formula 1's British Grand Prix on Sunday.

How about the NBA Finals' SOLD OUT arenas with tens of thousands of people and thousands more watching on the big screen outside the arenas?

Imagine Chant or Berejiklian telling any of these fans their stupid government orders.

It is both laughable and infuriating that this Coronasanity has been given credence and assumed correct in public discourse and policy.

Sky News Australia host Chris Kenny said the "state premiers are inflicting enormous harm on their citizens, communities, and economies because of their political obsession with zero COVID because they think it's the lesser of two evils."

"It's all a bit much, isn't it?," Kenny said of Chant's order to not talk with anyone. "It's about infantilizing the population, it's about the Nanny State, it's about control — 'government knows best, and to hell with personal responsibility.'"
