Can you imagine what it's like to be Kamala Harris? You're the nominee without ever winning a single primary (or even winning a single vote in a primary), and yet you never have to worry.
Why?
You have the legacy media in your pocket.
Who cares about having to be in any way informed on the economy, illegal immigration, or war when the media spend most of their time drooling over her sudden love for Doritos — the whitest of Hispanic-adjacent snacks?
But every now and again, when Kamala Harris is extra stupid and too much communism slips out, the legacy media need to do damage control.
Enter Axios.
Because when in doubt, push out an overnight rebrand.
Let's go back and look at what Kamala Harris actually said.
First off, she said price-gauging, not gouging, because she's an idiot.
And framing the rising cost of food and other goods as corporate greed that can then be solved by government action is straight out of the Soviet Union's playbook.
But here's how Axios approached it:
One of Kamala Harris' most controversial policy proposals is a ban on grocery price gouging — critics are conflating the idea with Soviet-style price controls, and calling the plan 'Kamunism.'
Why it matters: If banning price gouging is communist, then the U.S. went Marxist long ago. Most of us live in states that already have bans in place.
Acknowledging that Harris "hasn't provided much detail," Axios then blamed "wild speculation" on the people who are actually concerned about what this policy would look like.
Because when Kamala Harris offers no policy platform whatsoever, it's our fault for misinterpreting Dear Leader, you see.
Axios then proceeded to explain current price-gouging legislation in states across America, noting that "The laws are triggered by an event — typically a natural disaster like a hurricane, pandemic, or even a strike — a time when the governor or the federal government has declared an emergency."
But here's the thing: Our voluntary economic suicide is not that kind of emergency. Sure, it's an emergency that we're racking up more debt than Hunter Biden on a boy's trip to Vegas, but it's an emergency caused by the Biden/Harris administration and federal government spending, rather than something far out of their immediate control.
Axios are explaining price-gouging in the context of businesses responding to natural disasters ... and with a careful sleight of hand, they're acting as if Kamala Harris is also talking about natural disasters.
Which she is not, unless we're talking about her campaign.
If banning price gouging is communist, then the U.S. went Marxist long ago. Most of us live in states that already have bans in place.
Haha! So witty, and so utterly besides the point.
You're going to have to do better than that, Axios.
