A few years ago, we reported on a woman named Taylor A. Humphrey, who charged parents $10,000 to help them name their baby.

According to the New York Post, Humphrey is now charging up to $30,000 to name babies.

$30,000!

I can't even fathom having that much money to burn.

The basic package is still $10,000, but she's created add-on services to up sale her clients.

(She only charged $1,500 back in 2020!)

Add-on services include things such as ‘identifying a unique name aesthetic,' ‘baby name branding,' getting a genealogist to compose a list of names from old parts of the family tree, or even hiring a think tank to discuss options.

A think tank!

For goodness sakes parents, naming a kid isn't that hard. Just go with John or Jane if you're having that much trouble.

Humphrey's said that her ability to increase prices comes in part from the backlog her business has generated thanks to getting made fun of on the internet.

‘I had to come to terms with the fact that people often find me through content that pokes fun at me,' Humphrey said. ‘I accept it because I believe the work I'm doing is really important.'

‘It's a little embarrassing when you get made fun of on the internet,' she said. ‘But at the same time, I'm like, "Well, it is silly." I come up with baby names for a living.'

Well, Miss Humphrey, we hope you'll remember to send us our cut from this ribbing.

Here's a recent interview with Humphrey explaining her process:
