Free Bird! Baby owl found in Rockefeller Christmas Tree released back into the wild.
· Nov 25, 2020 · NottheBee.com

Remember that itty-bitty owl that was found hiding among the sparse branches of the Rockefeller Christmas tree? He was in bad shape when they found him. But thankfully, the little guy is all healed up and is ready to fly.

Note that it was not a baby owl, just a small, cute, owl, called a brown and white speckled Saw-whet and nicknamed "Rockefeller," because "brown and white speckled Saw-whet," would be the worst cute animal name in history.

You can learn more about Saw-whets here.

"The Saw-whet Owl's name comes from the 'skiew' call that is made when alarmed. This sound has a resemblance to the whetting of a saw."

You be the judge:

He was nursed back to health and released up north into his wild habitat where he will be able to roam free as he pleases, likely joining up with other owls traveling south.

Fly away, Rockefeller, fly to freedom!
