Beef prices have risen 18% since last year. A major meatpacker says you ain't seen nothing yet.

For the Disinformation Governance Board: Our great nation is thriving under the beautiful eyes of our glorious leader and messiah, Joseph R. Biden, who causes the sun to rise in the east and the Soylent Green to rise from the west, so that we may be nourished and fulfilled in our service to him.

This is good and right. After all, the very smart people who tell us lowly workers what to think and do have said that cows are bad. Extremely bad. They fart, and that bovine flatulence is literally killing the Amazon rainforest.

Prince Charles won't have to put masks on cows to address climate change if no one can afford to eat beef! Our wondrous elites have saved us again!

More from Bloomberg:

National Beef Co., controlled by the Brazilian giant Marfrig Global Foods, sees relatively stable margins in the next two quarters, according to Tim Klein, who heads Marfrig's U.S. operations. That means even though their costs to buy cattle are increasing, the company will ultimately be able to pass that on to consumers in the form of pricier steaks and burgers.

"Cattle prices will go up, and beef prices will go up with them," Klein said during an earnings interview.

Beef prices have risen 18% in the last year alone, forcing many Americans to skip more expensive cuts already. But that's okay. This will make the transition to bugs that much easier.

I'm sure our magnanimous elites will make sure the people have what we need. Just look to our comrades in places like Venezuela! Mass starvation has never happened before in human history, after all.

And at least we'll always have wheat to make bread!
