I guess Pam here has never heard of the phrase "The buck stops here."
After her department was shown by the House Oversight Committee to be fudging crime statistics, Chief Pamela Smith was pressured to resign on Friday.
She held a "walkout" ceremony and it went ... well ...
From WUSA in DC:
DC Police Chief Pamela Smith had a blunt parting message for critics Friday: '"F' you!'"
Typically calm and technical in her public presentation, Smith likened her exit speech at the Metropolitan Police Department headquarters to a sermon as the outgoing chief launched into a passionate denial of the allegations by the House Oversight Committee and the U.S. Attorney that the department had diminished crime numbers under her leadership.

Never would I compromise my integrity, never would I compromise 28 years in law enforcement for a few folk who couldn't stand to be held accountable! ... I'd do it again!
Ahh yes, she certainly seems like a champion of accountability as she, the police chief, throws others in her department under the bus while insisting her hands are totally clean.
Here are the important details of the report which led to Smith's leaving the department:
Yeah, it was a widespread problem throughout the department.
Of course heads had to roll.
But not HER head!
Here's more from Smith:
So, I'm going to the Bible when I say this to my haters: F you. The same folks, they changed their numbers. And I did not, the report is very clear, I did not direct anyone. You should investigate those folks.
I'm not sure what version she's reading from, but I'm pretty sure "f the haters" isn't in scripture.
And, of course, Smith thinks that just because she didn't direct anyone to change the numbers on the crime reports that means it doesn't matter that she oversaw the department.
I'm just gonna say, I don't know how this lady earned her job but I will say that I'm not heartbroken over her leaving.
