Bernie says that two senators "do not have the right to sabotage what 48 want and what the president wants" and I'm starting to think he's not very good at this Senate thing

Leave it to the cooky old commie to spend decades in office without an understanding of checks and balances.

Actually, Bernie, they do have the right.

Especially when an insanely bloated and corrupt $3.5 TRILLION bill is on the table with the goal of creating one-party power in America forever.

In fact, the Founders' entire point in creating the Senate was to 1) provide equal representation for states regardless of size and population and 2) temper the mob-like passions of the House by offering a check to any radical legislation that was being pushed forward.

Because of that, the Senate is specifically designed to create gridlock if just one or two members disagree.

The overall legislature is also supposed to be a check on the power vested in the executive branch. The Founders, fearing the rule of a despotic king or emperor, wanted to routinely thwart what the executive โ€“ the president โ€“ "wants," because they feared tyranny a heck of a lot more than laws not getting passed.

Also, I think Bernie has his numbers off here, which makes me wonder if he's very good at this math thing either...

But hey, I'm just a writer on a random internet website, not a multiple-term U.S. Senator like Bernie Sanders.

I couldn't possibly know more about how this works than him, right??
