Bobi, the world's oldest dog, dead at 31
· Oct 23, 2023 · NottheBee.com

Somebody get me a tissue, cuz this old boy is off to dog heaven.

Bobi was the world's oldest doggo at 31 years old — 11,478 days of pure bone-chewing glory — but now he's gone. We covered him in all his glory here if you want to read about his birthday last summer.

The mutt everlasting — a purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo — reportedly passed away on Oct. 21 at his home in Conqueiros, Portugal, where he lived his entire life with the Costa family, Guinness World Records reported.

Born on May 11, 1992, Bobi was reportedly an eye-popping 31 years and 165 days old at the time of his passing (for reference, the average dog's life span is 10 to 13 years).

This came months after Guinness had officially recognized the herding dog as both the world's oldest living and oldest-ever pooch on Feb. 2, 2023.

It's amazing how long this good boy lasted. He nearly tripled the average age of a canine, which is just beyond comprehension.

A quick word from his vet:

1992!!!

Crazy that Bobi was born before some of you readers were even a thought in your parents' minds.

I guess all you gotta do, pet owners, is love your dog and feed them well, and they'll be with you longer than you think. Heck, you could even get a good 30 years out of em if you give em the Bobi treatment.

Sad to see this boy go. Cheers to Bob, who I know is reading this from dog heaven. Rest in peace, pup.
