Graduation requirements for Oregon high schools no longer include knowing how to read, write, or do math because of racism or something
· Oct 23, 2023 · NottheBee.com

The Oregon Board of Education has unanimously voted to waive academic requirements for graduation from high school until 2029, including proving basic mastery of reading, writing, and math.

The requirements were first waived in 2020 under the guise of the pandemic, but lest anyone should think that mass infection was the reason for the waiver, the Board has extended the waiver six more years.

Their reason?

Racism.

Board members said,

Higher rates of students of color, students learning English as a second language and students with disabilities ended up having to take intensive senior-year writing and math classes to prove they deserved a diploma.

They thought that led to their lives being a little harder.

Imagine how hard it will be for them not knowing how to read, write, or do math!

The unelected bureaucrats assured the naysayers that there will still be standardized tests to gauge academic progress, but those standards just won't matter when it comes to advancing through school.

Of course, Oregon also implemented an opt-out option for standardized tests too. Over a third of Oregon students opted out of standardized testing, so there's no real way to knew how Oregon students are doing academically anymore.

But ignorance will be equitable.

There will soon be an entire generation of Oregon students without any meaningful education.

Sure, they'll know how to be good activists and burn stuff down, but it'll be indiscriminate destruction because they can't read or write to know what they're setting fire to.

Employers would be wise to take note.

In less than 10 years, a high school diploma from Oregon will be a huge red flag for an employee you don't want to hire.
