This lady has made £50k during the pandemic by charging people for Zoom calls WITH HER GOATS!

Yup, you read that headline right. Dot McCarthy, a farmer from Lancashire, UK, charges £5 per Zoom call so people can connect with her goats.

WITH HER GOATS!

ON ZOOM!

You might be thinking to yourself at this exact moment…

Because this is absolutely strange.

Now, I'm not gonna hate on Dot McCarthy and Cronkshaw Fold Farm, because that chick's just making money—and she's been able to keep her two employees on through the pandemic, WHICH IS AWESOME! Her goats have entered thousands of Zoom calls, and she's made over £50,000 in the process!!!

I'm more concerned about the people who pay money to see a goat.

Why am I concerned?

Because they're paying money...

To see a goat...

ON ZOOM.

And that's extra creepy.

Her goats have now appeared in virtual meetings all over the world, including in the US, Russia, China and Australia, with some people donating far more than the £5 charge for an appearance.

She said they mostly appeared briefly, but one family books one of her other goats, Margaret, every Saturday morning for a longer catch-up.

"They call her Marg and she is one of the family now," she said.

EVERY SATURDAY MORNING?

The farm has struggled to keep up with demand, which means there are just tons and tons of sick creepy people out there, but this has allowed for other "goat Zoom" startups to emerge (as I just found out on YouTube...and I'm getting more creeped out by the minute).

McCarthy says her farm usually earns income by hosting weddings and educational visits, but that part of her business has been shut down by COVID-19. She has raised some revenue by selling manure, but says she much prefers the Zoom calls to that stinky job.

Here's some coverage from the local news:

And then I'll go ahead and leave you with this...because, uh, goats:
