In attempt to discourage bad choices, British pizzeria charges one hundred pounds for pineapple

People make bad choices all the time, and one of the worst is adding pineapple to pizza.

Seriously, that stuff belongs at the bottom of the sea.

The owners of Lupa Pizza in Norwich, England, have the right idea. They don't want to turn people with bad taste away, but if they insist on making them ruin a pizza, they should pay for it: £100 ($122) to be precise.

Check out their amazing signage:

Yeah, for £100 you can have it. Order the champagne too! Go on, you Monster!

The owners weren't shy about their reasons for taking an anti-pineapple stance:

Co-owner Francis Woolf minced no words: ‘I absolutely loathe pineapple on a pizza.'

Head chef Quin Jianoran agreed, saying, ‘I love a pina colada, but pineapple on pizza? Never. I'd rather put a bloody strawberry on one than that tropical menace.'

But they're good sports and have agreed to a deal with the Norwich Evening News to let people decide whether to offer pineapple on pizza, at least as a one-time special, minus the £100 fee.

‘If pineapple wins the vote, I'll make it,' said Quin. ‘But I won't be happy about it. And I might charge £200 next time.'

Here is a link to the poll where readers can vote.

I don't know if it's cheating to vote from across the pond, but the vote asks, "Does pineapple belong on pizza?" not, "Should Lupa Pizza offer pineapple pizza for people whose tastebuds are malfunctioning?"

So, of course, I voted

"NO!"

And you should too!
