British police investigating surgeon who used his Swiss Army knife on patient when he couldn't find scalpel: "The operation was an emergency"

Another moment brought to you by British socialized healthcare!

British police are investigating at least 105 incidents of gross negligence, and manslaughter at University Hospitals Sussex.

One of the weirdest incidents involved a doctor who used his personal Swiss Army knife to operate on a patient after he was unable to find a scalpel.

The knife was the same one he used to cut his food during lunchtime and wasn't sterile.

To make matters worse, the BBC reports that 3 other patients have died in the past 2 months after being operated on by the same surgeon, even though the surgeries were routine and low-risk.

Thankfully, the patient who was operated on with the Swiss Army Knife recovered and is ok.

Several internet commenters questioned the BBC's decision to not name the surgeon:

Europe often brags about its "free" taxpayer-funded government healthcare.

You get what you pay for, folks!
