I don't know why we're ending the week with Britney Spears drama but here we are and it's funny so why not.

The pop star decided she was gonna say hi to San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama in Vegas and a security guard stopped her:

You can hear the crowd's reaction when that security guard's arm came up.

"Yo, that's Britney Spears!"

Welp, it turns out that the guard merely put his arm out and Brittany actually slapped herself in the face.

From ESPN:

Police reviewed surveillance footage of the incident, with the report noting that Spears' hand hit herself in the face when a security guard pushed it away.

Spears had filed a police report, alleging battery and saying she was struck in the face by the security guard when she tried to approach Wembanyama near a restaurant at the ARIA hotel and casino Wednesday night.

According to a copy of the police report obtained by ESPN, Spears noticed Wembanyama and went to tap him on the shoulder. Spears' manager, Cade Hudson, also told police that a member of Wembanyama's security team struck Spears in the face, knocking her glasses off. However, a member of Spears' security team described the physical interaction as the pop star having her hand pushed off Wembanyama, describing the move as a standard response by security.

Las Vegas police say since Spears punched herself in the face, the investigation is over and there will be no charges.

Wembanyama didn't even realize it was Spears:

I know you millennials are gonna hate this cuz it'll make you feel old, but it's worth noting that Wembanyama was born in 2004, meaning he wasn't even alive when Britney hit the scene (she's 41 now). Not only that, but Wembanyama is French and into science fiction and art, not exactly the pop scene.

Oh, one last detail about the whole scene:

[Spears] can be heard shouting in a British accent, "That's America for you! F--- you all!"
