You may have missed this, given that it happened in Germany and for one day only, but, well, bottom line, the folks running Burger King kind of appear to have lost their minds:

Among pregnant women, weird cravings have become the stuff of myths—from the women with an urge to crunch ice cubes, to those who snack on pickles in the middle of the night. Ahead of Mother's Day on May 8, Burger King decided to indulge those cravings by creating special Whoppers for expectant moms.

Burger King Germany has launched a range of nine limited-edition Whoppers made from the food cravings and combinations most cited among its recent survey of pregnant women. The sandwiches feature unusual pairings, such as cucumber with jam, pickles with whipped cream, banana and eggs, fish fingers and apple sauce, and fries with strawberry ice cream.

Okay actually wait a second here.

"Cucumber with jam" sounds gross. So does "pickles with whipped cream" and "bananas and eggs." Just really gross combinations there. We can all agree on that .

But...fish fingers and apple sauce? That's a pretty classic combination. That probably wouldn't be all that bad.

And fries with strawberry ice cream? I mean, heck, we've all dipped our French fries in our Frosties before. A little sweet, a little savory...that's usually a winning combo.

Actually these wacky pregnancy burgers might be just the thing to get me back in a Burger King!
