California is implementing America's highest tax on solar power users and Elon Musk is laughing at the hypocrisy all the way from Texas

Jan 13th

California is all about saving the planet, right?

That's why they've shut down those green-and-insanely-powerful nuclear plants, put a future ban on gas engines, and [checks notes] implemented an insanely costly tax on people trying to live off solar energy.

Oh, the irony is delicious. Californians will have to pay more under this proposal for solar power than they would in a "non-progressive" state that has no government solar incentives or programs.

Just another reason to move outta Cali!

"Only the wealthiest Californians will be able to afford rooftop solar, shutting out schools, small businesses, and the average family from our clean energy future," said Abigail Ross Hopper, president and CEO of [the Solar Energy Industries Association]. "The only winners today are the utilities, which will make more profits at the expense of their ratepayers. We urge Governor Newsom to act quickly to change this decision — at risk are 65,000 solar jobs, the security of our electricity grid, and the health of California residents and our planet."

All you common woke folks think California is all about that green.

What you didn't realize is that your leftist overlords are indeed about that green, just not the kind you think will save the polar bears.

The average American household uses about 11,000 kilowatts of energy annually. While most people aren't living entirely off solar (because solar energy doesn't have the oomph needed to run most homes), Tesla Energy estimates that the tax and additional fees will run the average person $50-$80 more on their monthly bills.

To add insult to injury, the new proposal would reduce the amount credited to people on their bills for selling their solar energy back into the public grid by 80%.

Unbelievably, the California utilities and CPUC also proposed to change the rules for customers who have already signed contracts and purchased a solar system, which violates basic principles of fairness.

Amazingly, there are still people out there who think Marxists and Marx-adjacent woke leaders care about "fairness."

The CEO of Tesla, Dogefather Elon Musk, slammed the new proposal.

I bet Elon is enjoying the Texas life even more now!
