It looks like Michigan Democrat Shelby Campbell is really in the soup on this one.
Campbell's Soup sent Campbell the Democrat a cease and desist letter back in early September. Campbell refused to comply, even mocking the letter online, saying it would help her win office. She is a Democrat apparently attempting a primary in Michigan's 13th District.
For instance, she still uses this as her banner on X:
Now she's being sued.
From CBS News:
The lawsuit against Shelby Nicole Campbell, 31, of Detroit, was filed Friday in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. The allegations in the lawsuit are infringement of a federally registered trademark, false designation of origin and false endorsement.
...
Shelby Campbell's website, Soup4Change, includes the marking 'paid for by Shelby Campbell for Congress' and lists her policy directions in topics such as public transportation, affordable housing and federal labor laws.
The lawsuit by the Camden, New Jersey-based food company alleges the use of a slogan and visual theme that appears similar to the design of a Campbell's soup can.
The lawsuit also alleges that Shelby distributed "stickers and other merchandise bearing the infringing design."
Not only that, but Campbell's Soup has received countless emails and messages asking if they've endorsed Shelby for Congress.
And with posts like this one (and many more), it's no wonder Campbell's wanted her to stop using their logo:

This lady is running for Congress!
Shelby's comment on the lawsuit is in typical Democrat form:
Powerful institutions, whether educational or corporate, often use their vast resources to control narratives, intimidate individuals, and dictate outcomes. This is exactly why I'm running for Congress: because our legal system should not be a weapon reserved for the wealthy.
