Hey, you might gets AIDS from your future blood transfusion, but at least everything will be equitable!

Health Canada on Thursday lifted the ban on blood donations from men who have sex with men, putting an end to a practice long criticized as discriminatory and homophobic.

The regulator announced in a statement that it had authorized a submission from Canadian Blood Services — which manages the blood supply outside Quebec — to remove the current ban on donations from men who have had sex with men in the last three months.

The new policy — which is expected to take effect by Sept. 30 — will screen all donors, regardless of gender or sexuality, for "high-risk sexual behaviours."

Wait, so in the span of three paragraphs, the Toronto Star says that its discriminatory not to accept blood transfusions from gay men, but then low-key lobs gay sexuality into the category of "high-risk sexual behaviors."

You can't make it up!

Canadian Blood Services said this will mean asking all donors whether they've had anal sex with new or multiple partners in the last three months.

Were they not screening for these behaviors previously?

Of course, the Lord of Woke has something to say about it:

"The current approach was discriminatory and wrong," Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told reporters Thursday.

I mean, it's not scientifically or medically wrong. Gay men have much, much higher rates of sexually transmitted diseases than the general population, including infections that can rapidly spread through blood like HIV.

And while it was certainly discriminatory, I think we've forgotten that proper discrimination (we old-school Bible thumpers like to call it "discernment") actually keeps unhealthy outcomes at bay. I guess Trudeau and the other woke elite never had their moms ask if they'd jump off a bridge if everyone else did it.

I learned and was affirmed that my blood is as good as anyone's blood in this room," said openly gay Liberal MP Rob Oliphant.

Sorry, I had to.

Yes, your blood is as "good as" everyone else's if you mean that living as a gay man doesn't diminish your worth as a human being.

But if you're carrying blood-borne diseases because you engage in abnormal sexual practices, then nope. That's not how this works.

Even in the leftist UK, gay men are banned from giving blood unless they've been been with only one sexual partner in the last 3 months. The 3-month rule also applies in the States after the FDA recently reduced the requirement from 1 year.

"Finally, today Canada takes a major step toward joining more than 17 nations who have no deferral period for blood donation."

A major step off a cliff, that is!

Anyway, I'm sure Canada's continued denial of medical facts will lead to all sorts of great outcomes in the future!
