Canada's Trudeau Orders Finance Minister To Use Income Tax Act To Attack Pro-Life Organizations

Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, has ordered his finance minister to target "anti-abortion" organizations using an income tax act.

From the mandate:

  • "Introduce amendments to the Income Tax Act to make anti-abortion organizations that provide dishonest counselling to pregnant women about their rights and options ineligible for charitable status, and to expand the Medical Expense Tax Credit to include costs reimbursed to surrogate mothers for IVF expenses. You will be supported in this work by the Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Youth."

These organizations would include crisis pregnancy centers and churches that advise women against receiving abortions.

Trudeau is taking this action through the Ministry of Finance because it is the most powerful tool he has to stop pro-life groups.

As former US Chief Justice John Marshall famously stated in McCullough vs. Maryland:

"The power to tax is the power to destroy"

Currently, under Canadian law, these organizations are classified as charities and aren't subjected to the same taxes as other organizations.

But Trudeau is seeking to take away that exemption, declassify them as charities because they are "dishonest" (which means they disagree with Trudeau on abortion), and work to destroy these pro-life groups through the power of the government.

This is despicable. You hate to see this happen anywhere, but with it happening in Canada it will serve as a road map for liberals in the US. They will use this same strategy to try to take down pro-life pregnancy centers and churches here.

It won't be long.
