Back in May of 2019, NFL player Russell Okung tweeted "Pay me in bitcoin." Now his wish has finally been granted.
This dude's $13 million a year salary is now being split 50-50 between bitcoin and US dollars.
That's a lot of bitcoin.
Technically, he's not actually being paid in bitcoin. Instead, he's taking advantage of a service called Strike that converts traditional paychecks into bitcoin.
The cryptocurrency is worth about 273% more than when Okung first tweeted about it. But better late than never, right?
